Course Topics

Introduction to First Aid and the Responsibilities of a First Aider

This training course includes an explanation of the roles and responsibilities of a first responder in providing first aid, adherence to legislative requirements, and obtaining prior consent. It also covers the importance of first aid kits, priorities in handling injuries, and reporting post-incident.

Accident Assessment:

The training includes surveying the accident site, providing primary and secondary evaluations, and explaining the steps related to resuscitation and communication with casualties.

Handling an Unconscious Casualty:

This part of the course addresses the principles of resuscitation and measures to deal with unconscious victims, including airway management and performing CPR.

Respiratory System Management:

Includes an explanation of the respiratory system and measures to address airway blockages and choking situations in adults, children, and infants.

Wounds and Bleeding:

This section offers first aid for wounds, control of bleeding, and treatment of wounds with embedded foreign objects.

Dealing with Shock and Seizures:

The training covers physiological shock and severe allergic reactions, as well as types of seizures and how to manage them.

Handling Minor Injuries:

Includes treatment of bruises, minor cuts, scratches, minor burns, and removal of foreign objects from the skin.

Handling Other Injuries:

This part provides first aid for fractures, spinal injuries, heavy bleeding, heart attacks, strokes, poisoning, amputations, and asthma.
