Advanced First Aid, CPR & AED

This intensive, high-level program provides participants with advanced first aid skills to manage serious injuries, trauma, and life-threatening emergencies. Designed for high-risk industries, this course goes beyond basic first aid to cover advanced life-saving techniques, major trauma management, and workplace emergency response.

Programs Contents
Role and responsibilities of the first aider

Covers the role and responsibilities of the first aider, legislative requirements, consent, first-aid equipment, arriving at the scene, contacting emergency services, coordination with EMS, prioritizing treatment, clearing up, incident recording, minimizing infection, and barrier devices.

Assessing an incident

Covers scene survey, conducting a multi-casualty scene survey, risk prioritization, assessing environmental hazards, ensuring responder safety, primary survey, casualty communication, secondary survey, and the recovery position.

Managing an unresponsive casualty

Covers the principles of resuscitation, respiratory system, airway maintenance, handling airway obstruction and assisted breathing in trauma, chest compressions, rescue breathing, CPR, adult BLS and AED, compression-only CPR, infant and child CPR, chain of survival, AED use, and defibrillation algorithm.

The respiratory system

Covers obstructed airway, recognizing and treating choking in adults, children, and infants, and actions for a choking child or infant.

Wounds and bleeding

Covers the circulatory system, types of bleeding, wounds with embedded foreign objects, and advanced bleeding control.

Shock and Seizures

Covers hypovolemic shock, anaphylaxis, epileptic seizures, partial seizures, and generalized seizures.

Dealing with minor injuries

Covers contusions, minor cuts, grazes, minor burns and scalds, foreign objects, and small splinters.

Environmental Emergency Response

Covers heatstroke, hypothermia, and dehydration.

Other injuries/ medical illneses

Covers fractures, applying a support sling, heart attack, stroke, diabetes, head injuries, nosebleed, amputations, spinal injury, poisons, and asthma.

Programs Details
Program Goal

The goal is to assist our success partners to positively impact the workplace Health and Safety culture by helping employees acquire and improve their knowledge and skills to protect and preserve life, alleviate suffering, and promote recovery.

Participants certification requirements

Written evaluation required by regulations, recommended for responders with a duty to provide first aid. Performance evaluation: Students must demonstrate required skills competently without assistance.

Certification period

Valid for 2 years from the issue date, with an annual refresher recommended to maintain skills and compliance.

Duration Session Capacity

Three days, 18 hours, up to 20 trainees per session.

Delivery Methods & Languages

Instructor-led training with practical demonstrations and hands-on practice using CPR manikins and AED simulators. Available in Arabic, English, and Urdu.
